The tragedy was narrowly avoided, in the night from Monday to Tuesday, in the small village of Romescamps, in the north-west of the Oise.
The inhabitants of a pavilion – two women, a 7-year-old child, a one-month-old baby and a dog – were indeed saved from the flames by firefighters.
