The preparations for the company run are on the home straight.

The response is enormous.

Many runners and volunteers for the marshals have reported.

Geretsried – Next Wednesday at 7 p.m. on Karl-Lederer-Platz, the starting signal will be given for the first company run after the two-year compulsory break caused by corona.

In other words: the countdown to the largest running event in the area is on.

This includes the division of the marshals on Thursday evening in the Isarau restaurant.

Organizer Rudi Utzinger was overwhelmed by the response: "We needed 33, 44 came," he says.

"It's amazing how many people want to take part on their own initiative."

Big run on company run in Geretsried

For Utzinger, the successful Thursday was further evidence of how much Geretsried and the surrounding area need such an event.

2000 registrations were received – just as many as two years ago.

"Other organizers have difficulties mobilizing people again, everything only starts again after Corona." But the run on the Alpenland company run is unbroken.

The 70-strong organizing team spared no effort in putting together a smooth running event.

"The effort is enormous," said the head of Intersport Utzinger on Egerlandstraße.

But all the work was worth it.

"All age groups are again represented across the board, from students to adults to seniors."

Heat: "The BRK is specially prepared for this case"

The announced heat does not worry Utzinger.

He recalls that 2019 was also a hot year - and there were fewer incidents than in previous years.

"The BRK is specially prepared for this case," he says.

In addition, sufficient drinks will be served on the 4.9-kilometer route.

"And the runners are also happy when they get a cool shower from the garden hose from local residents."

The maker appeals to the participants to come to Geretsried early and without a car.

If you can't do without a car: parking spaces are available on the Böhmwiese, in the multi-storey car park at the indoor pool and at the ice rink.

There is a "treat" for residents: you can use the underground car park on Karl-Lederer-Platz and the parking space free of charge between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m.

The exit is possible the next day.

Utzinger asks for your understanding for the traffic obstructions on the route between 6.30 p.m. and 8 p.m.

The Böhmerwaldstraße and the B11 are always passable as alternative routes.
