Gironde: an octogenarian kills his son before committing suicide

An 80-year-old man shot and killed his 39-year-old son on Sunday morning in Comps in the north of Gironde, before committing suicide, we learned from the Libourne prosecutor's office, confirming information from the Sud newspaper West.

The facts took place around 8:15 a.m. in this village of Blayais.

Shortly after his gesture, the octogenarian called the gendarmes before trying to end his life.

Unconscious when help arrived and very seriously injured, he was then airlifted to CHU Pellegrin in Bordeaux, where he died of his injuries.

To explain his gesture, the father of the family left a note in writing, also indicated the prosecution, who did not wish to give more details.

An investigation for intentional homicide has been opened to shed light on the exact circumstances of this tragedy.
