The new primary school building in Rottach-Egern, which is no longer so new, was inaugurated with a little delay.
It has been in operation since 2020, but the official inauguration has only taken place now - due to the corona virus.

- But that didn't detract from the joy of the new school building.
Nevertheless, the school family was happy about the new gem, which not only offers space for the rooms from the 1st to the 4th grade and specialist rooms, but also houses the open all-day school and a learning environment.
And that plays a central role in modern learning, explains headmaster Ulrich Throner: The common learning space in the middle of the classroom is intended to enable the pupils to learn “communicatively in contact”.
This way you can work independently with other students.
And differentiated measures are also possible.
New building for ten million euros
The new building cost ten million euros and took four years to complete.
A forward-looking project, which ultimately represents a compromise, as Throner stated in his speech: "It's a compromise between pedagogy and profitability." And it's a good compromise.
Overall, it took a relatively long time to realize the new school building, and construction was not an easy time.
Exploding costs and a lot of work for administration and the school association - a real challenge and a "stress test for the school family".
Difficult construction phase
In addition, there were lessons in mobile classrooms, noise and dust from the work, the conversion of the specialist rooms into classrooms and, last but not least, the many discussions that accompanied the measures.
But this difficult phase was survived and today we are happy about the new school building.
The most important thing for Throner: "Everything held together." The goal was always the best possible solution.
On this occasion, the Rector thanked everyone for their willingness to support the project, as well as his predecessor Katrin Brück, who was still in office during the two-year planning phase.
Opening ceremony with everyone involved in the construction
Everyone involved in the construction met at the inauguration ceremony: the Tegernsee Valley school association, architects and site managers, the teaching staff, the parents’ council and the clergy were all present at this event.
Pastor Monsignor Walter Waldschütz blessed the school building and wished the school family all the best.
A ritual that, even with a two-year delay, did not come too late.
