Russian President Vladimir Putin on Tuesday deemed
“useful”
the trilateral talks in Tehran with his Turkish counterparts Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Iranian Ebrahim Raisi on the settlement of the conflict in Syria.
"The meeting was useful and very instructive (...) we discussed the key points of our coordination concerning Syria"
, declared Vladimir Putin at the end of the discussions, during a speech broadcast on Russian television, inviting his two counterparts to go to Russia for a new meeting on this subject.
"In recent years, the terrorist threat has decreased (...) thanks to our joint efforts,"
he said.
He also said that the next consultations in Astana format on Syria should be held
"before the end of the year".
Vladimir Putin also claimed to have discussed with Recep Tayyip Erdogan the question of the export of cereals from Ukraine, currently blocked in the country because of the Russian offensive, which raises fears of a world food crisis.
However, he has not, for the time being, given more details on the progress of these discussions.
