The payroll department at the Treasury approved the provision of incentives to workers who increase the passport production system, in order to deal with the growing demand for flights during the summer vacation.
In order to solve the passport crisis and support the work of the Population and Immigration Authority, a model was built and approved in the Salary Division to provide incentives to the employees of the Immigration and Population Authority who choose to work in an enhanced format in the passport production and issuance system, Israel Hayom learned.
This is about the mobilization of the Population Authority employees, who are not involved in the production itself, to strengthen the production system in the current period, when there is a large increase in the demand for issuing passports.
The amount of the grant is determined according to the output of the passports, so the more passports are produced, the higher the grant given to the employee.
The move was approved this week after a successful pilot conducted in recent weeks, and according to Treasury officials, it has already helped to reduce the queues.
It is a contribution to increasing the output in the passport production system and improving the service in the summer months.
The commissioner of wages, Kobi Bar-Nathan, said: "I thank the administration of the Population and Immigration Authority and the dedicated employees, that by working together with them we were able to promote a plan that will lead to a quick and immediate solution, to adjust the pace of issuing passports to the demand for travel abroad in the summer."
