A powerful explosive device was placed in a restaurant full of diners in Moshav near Ashdod, as part of a conflict between the owner of the place and a senior criminal - this was allowed to be published today (Saturday).
The bomb was placed last Thursday in the Ratatouille restaurant in Moshav Emonim, neutralized, thus saving the lives of dozens of people.
The business was closed for 15 days under an administrative order.
The identity of the senior criminal and the criminal organization to which he belongs were not disclosed, and the owner of the place is required to be heard.
"The charge that was located before it was activated, was neutralized by the police saboteurs and its findings were forwarded for further investigation," the police statement said.
It was also mentioned that "according to information recently received by the Israel Police, it is suspected that the background to the incident is a criminal conflict that emerged between the owner of the restaurant and criminal elements, allegedly due to personal relationships he maintained."
The investigation is being conducted by the central unit of the Lachish area in the southern district.
The investigation began as an undercover investigation on Thursday with the discovery of the cargo, and was conducted until this evening under a blanket gag order.
