In the past year, Or Yehuda was active in everything related to the issue of recycling.
The municipality increased the scope of activity around the issue considerably, after deploying dozens of new recycling facilities, orange bins and even expanded the issue of information throughout the city and in educational institutions and more.
This is one of the reasons Or Yehuda also joined the unique summer competition - "Summer of Recycling" in collaboration with Walla!, the Tamir Recycling Corporation and the Local Government Center, in which approximately 20 local authorities from all over the country will take part in the coming summer months.

During the summer months, the municipality will hold activities related to recycling, including a video contest with prizes on the topic of encouraging recycling, separating waste and transferring it to the orange separation containers throughout the city.
"We at Or Yehuda Municipality put the issue of sustainability at the center of the agenda in many of the actions we carry out, and with a clear understanding that if we don't take care of the planet now, we may find ourselves in a serious problem not long from now," Mayor Liat Shohat noted.
"This is also why we are expanding the layout of the recycling facilities throughout the city, encouraging the residents to use them and above all making the information accessible so that it is clear to everyone. I have no doubt that the best ambassadors are the younger generation and therefore we use them to convey these important messages to adults as well. At the same time, we are promoting a number of projects that encourage sustainability, such as switching to electric vehicles, installing solar panels on the roofs of the municipality, switching to energy-efficient lighting throughout the city, switching from disposable to reusable, and more."

The goal: encouraging recycling
Apart from Or Yehuda, in July about 20 leading authorities will take part in the project, with the aim of encouraging more and more families to join the recycling revolution and separate packaging already at home.
To this end, the Tamir recycling corporation created recycling symbols that look like small bins in different bin colors (orange, blue and purple).
The symbols can be found on thousands of packages at the various points of sale and these make recycling much more accessible and clear.
The municipalities that take part in the project: Rishon Lezion, Or Yehuda, Netanya, Ramat Gan, Holon, Rehovot, Kiryat Motzkin, Lod, Ramla, Yavne, Nes Ziona, Kiryat Ono, Petah Tikva, Nesher, Sderot, Gani Tikva, Shoham, Givat Shmuel, Afula and Raanana.
Cycle is the whole point
