The Chief of Staff of the Palestine Liberation Army said: The establishment of the Syrian Arab Army came in response to the need of Arabism for those who preserve its dignity and preserve its pride.
In a statement issued by the commission on the occasion of the seventy-seventh anniversary of the founding of the Syrian Arab Army, and SANA received a copy of it, the commission said: “The valiant Syrian Arab Army, a few months after its founding, engaged in the struggle against the Zionist enemy and did not fail in the duty to defend Palestine, its people, and all Arab rights from the ocean to the Gulf. Believing in the unity of the nation and the unity of the land and destiny.”
The statement added: “The battle of truth in the face of falsehood, which this valiant army is waging against brutal terrorism, came from various countries of the world. President Lieutenant-General Bashar Hafez al-Assad;
Together with the resistant and honorable people of our nation and the world, he was able to withstand the most dangerous conspiracies.”
