"You used to be our commander, a person we loved and trusted, who would always be there for us. There was something unusual about you, in the best part" - this is how the open letter written by the victims of the officer who secretly filmed soldiers, Dan Sharoni, begins.

"It was you, all this time, who lied to us. While you were smiling - you planted cameras for us. While you promised to help - I watched us in our most private places."

"It probably doesn't feel like a 'big deal' to you. Otherwise we would hear regret, an apology. Instead, you are only focused on yourself, trying to pave the way to freedom for yourself," the victims wrote.

"Don't be mistaken, what you did to us is violence. Not the kind where you see a flashlight in your eye or a blue mark on your face, but with pain that burns all over your body. You know, we hardly sleep, don't function, dream that we are being photographed everywhere, cry a lot and especially ask why you did what you did We have it."

"A fight for a safer society and without dangerous people like you."

The victims also wrote and turned to the officer: "Tomorrow you will come to the court and ask to be released home. Another exercise of yours, so that you can say in the future that everything is fine with you and that you do not deserve any punishment behind bars. Some of us will be there at the court. It is difficult for most of us to come and see you, but Don't get confused, even if we are in pain, we have enough strength to fight against you, a fight that must end with you staying in prison for many years. This is not a fight only for 49 victims, it is a fight for a safer society without dangerous people like you."

Earlier this week, Sharoni submitted a request to be released from detention in the military prison to house arrest, according to him, this is due to the delay in the proceedings regarding the plea agreement signed with him.

The victims in the case expressed outrage at the request claiming that the officer manages to escape his punishment.

His request comes after a few days earlier the committee for the transfer of prisoners determined that he will be transferred from the military prison and will continue his detention until his sentence in a civilian prison.

However, the Supreme Court decided that until another decision is made, the transfer to a civilian prison facility will be delayed.

At the end of last month, the military attorney's office announced that it had reached a plea agreement with Sharoni.

According to the settlement, he admitted about 70 serious crimes of indecent acts, violation of privacy, computer intrusion and other crimes.

In addition, it was agreed that his military service will be terminated immediately, he will be demoted to the rank of private and will pay financial compensation in the amount of NIS 250,000 to the victims.
