Political positions in the region are witnessing changes in the face of crises and wars, some of which are still in the process of crystallization, and others have become a preoccupation at the political and media levels.
Undoubtedly, these media statements are important, but they remain vocal unless they find their way to implementation on the ground to prove good intentions, reconsider the values of good neighborliness, and correctly express the descriptions of brothers and the positive actions and actions they require on the ground.
It may be too early to judge the latest developments in political positions towards Syria, especially from countries that contributed greatly to the terrorist war against the Syrian people, but the return of the governments and leaders of these countries to reconsidering their policies indicates their conviction that the policies they were following are useless in achieving any of the its goals, as well as its desire to stop its harm to the interests of its people and other peoples.
Likewise, these changes in political positions reflect an explicit acknowledgment of their owners’ military and political failure, with regard to attempts to impose their will on the Syrian people, and determine their future according to their interests or plans that have followed over the past ten years of participating in the terrorist war on Syria.
There is no doubt that saying explicitly “we do not covet Syrian territory and that the Syrian people are our brothers” is not new and has been repeated in other contexts and more than once, but today it carries a different dimension depending on regional and international circumstances and changes, and this requires following it with practical steps by the party or government that I announced it in order to build on it, and there are steps that must be taken quickly to trust such positions and proceed with them, adopting them and responding to them.
Certainly, what is new in political positions would not have happened had it not been for the failure of the aggressive and terrorist options, the steadfastness of the Syrian people in the face of foreign interference, and the arrival of all other attempts to achieve the primary goal of the terrorist aggression against Syria to the dead end.
Also, these changes in attitudes are the beginning of a path for the positions of the countries that used to jointly sponsor, support and finance terrorism.
Some may believe that positive political positions are sufficient to solve the problems and crises produced by the aggression and external interference in the region, and this is just an illusion and the repercussions of the previous stage must be addressed at all levels, especially the economic and geopolitical ones, and this requires later on from the countries that were involved in supporting terrorism and inflicted it with terrorism. The economy should remove or cancel unilateral coercive measures, and contribute directly and indirectly to the reconstruction of what was destroyed by its wars in the region.
It is important for some countries in the region to realize, albeit belatedly, that there are malicious schemes targeting everyone, but this requires moving away from the policy of dictates, interfering in the affairs of other countries, respecting the principle of good neighborliness, constructive cooperation to consolidate stability in the region, and combating terrorism that threatens everyone.
Constructive cooperation between the countries of the region is the safest and quick option to solve their problems and crises, and find a place for them in the international arena. Relying on the support of other powers that are already greedy for the resources of the countries of the region and concentrating all their efforts to control them.
