According to the 40dB barometer, there are more Cs voters who intend to opt for the PP in future general elections than those who would vote again for the Arrimadas party.
More than half a million of the million and a half harvested by Cs in November 2019, which would be added to the half million that already made the same path between the calls for April and November of that year.
This would culminate the journey of Cs since in January 2015 he launched himself to conquer the country from his Catalan cradle, with a proposal for the regeneration of political life, in tune with the prevailing underlying trends in an important part of the citizenry, with a decisive weight on the part of the new generations, the daughters and sons of democracy who deserted from the two parties, PSOE and PP, which had dominated the scene up to that moment.
The success of Cs in 2015 (three and a half million votes) had begun to take shape two years earlier, when this newspaper published, in January 2013, the already famous "Bárcenas papers", which confirmed that the gangrene of the PP was coming to the table of its executive committee.
It is from then on that a growing nucleus of the popular vote begins to leave the party, taking refuge first in abstention and indecision, to later join the ranks of Cs.
Between January 2012 and January 2014, the PP lost almost five million votes, which are the ones that will make up the base of Cs in the 2015 general elections.
In view of the current data, the role of Cs would have been reduced to a kind of political washing tunnel.
The oranges picked up some voters fed up with the corruption of the PP who, after a few years, have been returning to their old fidelity clean of dust and straw.
Cs would not have known how to structure a reformist pole beyond the generic proclamations of its leaders, which is still a pity in view of the fact that the promised regeneration of the political system has been drowned out by polarization and the impossibility of generating a majority transversal to carry it forward.
Impossibility that Cs himself helped build led by the mirage of becoming the first party on the right.
The virtual disappearance of Cs predicted by all the polls leaves the feeling of a lost opportunity hanging in the air.
And not only because the possibility of an

of the system and with it the opportunity to connect it with the new generations escaped, but also because possibly today more than ever a liberal proposal is necessary, capable of joining the progressive bloc to limit the power of the cartels that distort the logic of the market in sectors as essential as fuel or energy.
Of course, a liberal option of this type has never been given in Spain, where for decades the liberal label has been worn by characters such as Esperanza Aguirre or Isabel Díaz Ayuso.
