(CNN) —

The latest Internet conversation related to the movie "Don't Worry Darling" involves stars Harry Styles and Chris Pine and (alleged) spitting.

In footage from Monday's Venice Film Festival, now widely shared on social media, Styles is seen approaching Pine to take a seat next to the actor at a screening of the

thriller

.

As Styles moves quickly to seat him, he makes a subtle "poh" motion with his mouth, suggesting that he may have spit.

Pine looks down at his lap, pauses in his applause, then shakes her head and smiles as if there's some kind of joke going on between the two stars.

Others argue that nothing is seen coming out of Styles' mouth.

CNN has reached out to the actors' representatives for comment.

"Just to be clear, Harry Styles did not spit on Chris Pine," a rep for Pine told People magazine.

"There is nothing but respect between these two men and any suggestion to the contrary is a blatant attempt to create drama that simply doesn't exist."

It is the most recent moment of the cinematographic campaign that makes us speculate that not everything is love between those involved in the project.

However, there were plenty of smiles from the cast at Monday's celebrations.

Pine was seen on the red carpet charmingly taking photos with a disposable camera of the film's star, Florence Pugh.

Styles gave co-star Nick Kroll a friendly kiss during a lengthy standing ovation for the film after the screening.

People on social media were quick to point out that there wasn't much public interaction between "Don't Worry Darling" director Olivia Wilde and Pugh, but Wilde had nothing but praise for the actress.

"Florence is a force," Wilde said at a news conference on Monday.

"I have no words to express how honored I am to have her as our lead. She is amazing in the movie."

The principal was asked about reports that she and Pugh had gotten into a fight.

"As for all the endless tabloid gossip and all the noise out there, I mean, the internet feeds on itself," Wilde said.

"I don't feel the need to contribute. I think he's well fed enough."

Worry?

I'm not even here, darling.

By the way, during that same press conference, Pine seemed to be distracted at times, leading Twitter to dub his appearance there "Chris Pine's Astral Projection."
