Some of them will be discussed today and tomorrow in Hanover at the first CDU federal party conference since the corona crisis.
For Friedrich Merz, it is the first of these meetings since he was elected party chairman.
He will have to face uncomfortable debates.
"The party is dealing with internal crises," says SPIEGEL editor Sophie Garbe in the podcast.
