Washington, SANA- Governor of the US state of New York, Kathy Hauckol, declared today a state of emergency in the state to prevent the spread of the virus

New York Governor Kathy Hocoll declared today a state of emergency in the state to prevent the recent outbreak of polio in the United States.

According to the US Department of Health, the polio virus has been detected in wastewater in New York and surrounding Rockling, Orange, Sullivan and Nassau counties.

The ministry stressed that the goal of declaring a state of emergency is to encourage polio vaccination.
