Palestinian medical sources announced the death of a woman and a child in the besieged Gaza Strip due to the continuation of the Israeli siege imposed on it for nearly 16 years and preventing them from leaving it for treatment in West Bank hospitals.

The Palestinian Wafa Agency stated that the occupation authorities prevented a 37-year-old Palestinian woman with cancer from going to Hebron in the West Bank to receive treatment, and then used the method of procrastination with her until she was martyred on the 3rd of this September. It also prevented a 10-year-old child suffering from a type of sarcoma. From going out with his father to the hospitals of occupied Jerusalem until he was martyred on the 30th of last August.

It is noteworthy that the director of the Union of Health Work Committees in the Gaza Strip, Dr. Raafat Al-Majdalawi, warned at the beginning of this year that the Israeli occupation deliberately sabotaged and paralyzed the hospitals of the Strip, which provide services to about 2.3 million people, by preventing the entry of medicines and medical devices, especially diagnostic care, in addition to preventing Palestinians from going out for treatment. Hospitals in the West Bank, which caused the death of many of them and worsened the health situation of thousands, in light of the international community’s ignoring of their suffering and its silence towards the continuous violations of international law and human rights.
