The Resistance Film Week, organized by the Ministry of Culture in cooperation with the Lebanese Association of Arts (Resalat), has devoted its second day to showing two films documenting scenes from the terrorist war on Syria and the destruction it left behind, which affected people, and the details of Syrian life, civilization and antiquities.

The two films that were shown this evening combined their ability to document real scenes from this bloody war, so that the cinema would be a living documentary document of an exceptional stage of resistance and struggle for the Syrian people.

The first movie was (The Blood of the Palms), directed by Najdat Ismail Anzour, which summarizes through his story what the city of Palmyra was subjected to through the story of three young fighters of the Syrian Arab Army.

The film presented the concept of martyrdom for the sake of the homeland as a basic value, with an emphasis on the fact that the continuation of life came thanks to the sacrifices of the martyrs and the heroism of the Syrian Arab Army, in addition to highlighting the personality of the martyr Khaled Al-Asaad, who refused to leave Palmyra and give the terrorists (ISIS) the information they tried to obtain.

The film stars Loujain Ismail, Joan Al-Khidr, Mustafa Saad El-Din and Mohamed Felfela.

As for the second film, it is an Iranian film entitled (The Journey of Al-Sham), directed by Ibrahim Hatem Kabba, and begins with the process of unloading the boxes of supplies from the plane on the land of the two towns that witnessed a siege on them by the terrorist organization (ISIS), which are (Kafriya and Al-Fu’ah) in the summer of 2015. They (ISIS) must have their guns because they did not reach the besieged children and women of the two towns.

The story revolves around the young Iranian pilot officer, Ali Rostami, to be presented by the director as a heroic character who falls into a spiral of conflict between duty and staying with his father, the pilot, Hajj Younis, and the desire to return home after leaving his wife in the hospital. The director was able to convey the idea of ​​this conflict between personal life and duty, showing details Much of the suffering of the Syrian people as a result of the terrorist war.

It is noteworthy that the Resistance Film Week Festival continues until Thursday, September 22, and includes films from Syria, Iran, Iraq, Palestine and Lebanon on the culture of resistance.
