Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov stressed today that the daily statements of the United States and European countries on the nuclear threat are harmful and provocative.
"Every day we regret the statements of the heads of Western countries, the United States and the presidents of Europe, regarding nuclear threats, and we consider this a very malicious and provocative practice," Peskov was quoted by the Sputnik news agency as telling reporters.
Peskov stressed that Russia does not want to participate in these practices and does not accept them.
In response to a request to comment on the statement of the G7 members following the results of yesterday's meeting, Peskov said: "I hope that sooner or later they will want to hold the Kyiv regime responsible for the crimes that it constantly commits."
The Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov confirmed earlier that Moscow does not threaten to use nuclear weapons, and that the United States and Western countries are fueling nuclear rhetoric.
