Magnificent specimens could be seen at the Gamsbart Olympiad in Mittenwald.
There was also a Wackersberger among the participants - and he did well.
Mittenwald/Wackersberg – The 30th Gamsbart Olympiad took place in the violin-making town of Mittenwald over the weekend.
The highlight on Sunday was the awarding of prizes for 78 specimens made from badger, deer and chamois hair.
The participants came from all over the Alps.
The only applicant from the district of Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen was Hans Demmel jun.
from Wackersberg.
The goal for the next championship is a stocker place
Four years ago, in Bad Goisern, in the Austrian Salzkammergut, Demmel was still 10th in the premier class – chamois beards over 19 centimeters.
At the foot of the Karwendel, it was now further ahead in the same category, under the critical evaluation of a jury of experienced experts.
In the end, the enthusiastic Wildbartbinder achieved an excellent fifth place.
The aim at the next event in two years, then again in Austria, is to climb onto the podium.
