Chinese president calls for adherence to and implementation of his own values ​​and policies

Chinese President Xi Jinping today presided over the closing session of the week-long 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in the capital, Beijing.

"We have a great responsibility and must bear in mind the Party's ambition and original mission, promote our ideals and beliefs, carry forward the great spirit, earnestly and study the Party building, understand and implement its theory, line, principles and policies," President Xi said in a speech to the session.

"In order to build a modern socialist country in an all-round way and promote the great renewal of the Chinese nation, we must more consciously study, adhere to, implement and preserve the Party Constitution, and work with the Party Central Committee in ideology, policy and action," Xi added.

Xi said the CPC has gone through a century of struggle, united and led the people of all ethnic groups in the country to great victories of socialist democratic revolution, construction, reform, opening and modernization, and ushered in a new era of Chinese socialism.

The Chinese president presented the report of the 19th Central Committee, and reviewed the development of the international and domestic situation.

At the end of its work, the National Congress called on Party members, the military and the Chinese people of all ethnic groups to unite around the CPC Central Committee and with President Xi, carry forward the spirit of construction, adhere to integrity, innovation, hard work, and strive for a modern socialist country and comprehensively promote the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.

The conference pointed out that the comprehensive strategic path to building a strong modern socialist state passes through two steps, namely, the fundamental realization of socialist modernization from 2020 to 2035, and the building of a strong, prosperous, democratic and culturally developed modern socialist state.
