Exclusive data obtained by "Israel Today" reveals the full data regarding the amount of luggage that did not take off from Israel on their original flight.
This means that some of the luggage arrived on later flights - and some did not reach their destination at all.
According to the data we have, in July, about 0.78% of the luggage did not take off on the original flight.
According to airport authority data, 1.09 million passengers took off from Israel in July, and if each of them flew with at least one suitcase, this means that more than 8,500 suitcases remained on the ground during the month.
In August, the figure improved slightly and stood at 0.71% of luggage left on the ground.
In the same month, 1.2 million passengers took off from Israel, and if each of them flew with at least one suitcase, a similar number of suitcases remained in Israel, just over 8,500 suitcases.

According to the calculation of the percentages in relation to the number of passengers, there are more than 17 thousand suitcases left in Israel during the summer months.
It is important to emphasize that the average number of bags that did not board their flight at Ben Gurion Airport is not one of the worst in the world.
In large airports that have experienced and are still experiencing a crisis in regards to baggage management and transportation, data were recorded that cross the percentage mark, which means that one out of every 100 pieces of luggage, and sometimes even more, do not reach their destination on time.
