He had all the material and uniform to pass himself off as a health worker: a stethoscope, a device to measure blood pressure... And above all "a lot of talk", police sources admit.
The National Police has arrested a minor in the Madrid town of Móstoles who pretended to be an emergency doctor and assisted patients in their homes, and even hired an ambulance service with which he attended home notices.
The minor called the emergency services, identifying himself as a doctor, to ask if there was any urgent notice and he took care of it.
In addition to home care, this individual transferred a patient to a health center, where he requested his admission, says the Madrid Police Headquarters in a note.
The events occurred at the end of August, when Citizen Security agents intervened in a home in Móstoles, in collaboration with a health worker, for the assistance of a possible psychiatric patient.
The police officers observed strange behavior during the performance of the alleged doctor, since at times he acted confidently and credibly and at others in a puerile manner, so they decided to report it to the health authorities.
An investigation was then started to identify this individual and clarify the facts, verifying that the supposed doctor was a minor without any type of health qualification.
The agents were able to verify that he himself had contracted a 24-hour ambulance service, which he used when he went to emergency calls.
The investigators discovered that on at least one occasion he had made a hospital admission after attending and transferring the patient in his ambulance, and that he had made more home visits.
Police sources point out that the detainee had managed to intercept the emergency station and thus find out about some of the notices, although there are still many questions about how his presence could not be detected before and how he could falsify all the documentation required for this type of interventions.
“It is very strange that an ambulance has been rented to a natural person.
We give our vehicles to medical transport companies that have many requirements: they must have at least five ambulances, they need medical transport cards from the Ministry of Public Works, an activity license, to be registered with Health... A lot documentation that is impossible for a natural person to have, that is why vehicles are only transferred to companies, ”explains a source from the private ambulance sector.
Police sources point to the great power of conviction of this young man to get hold of one of these vehicles.
A Summa 112 spokeswoman points out that the agency does not know how he could have access to health notices and denies having knowledge that his workers have met him in any assistance.
Once the investigations were completed, at the end of September he was arrested for an alleged crime of professional intrusion, and the judicial authority decreed his release pending trial.
