The IAA Mobility is scheduled to take place in Munich between September 5th and 10th next year.

It is unclear whether areas in the English Garden will be used.

Munich – All set for the bodies: The second edition of the International Motor Show (IAA) Mobility is scheduled to start on September 5, 2023 and end on September 10 - one week before the Oktoberfest.

This was announced by the Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA) and Messe München on Wednesday.

According to city hall circles, this time the Odeonsplatz will not be used by Mercedes-Benz.

It is conceivable that the area could be made available for an accompanying program of art and culture.

Whether parts of the fair will move to the English Garden is an open question.

However, it would be conceivable to place exhibitors for alternative forms of mobility there.

Cars would definitely not be placed in the park, the town hall also said.

IAA Mobility 2023 in Munich: The premiere attracted around 400,000 visitors to the state capital

At the time, Messe München applied to host the IAA and was awarded the contract.

The exhibition will take place twice more in Munich after 2021: in 2023 and 2025. The premiere with around 400,000 visitors was not free of criticism because the fair is not only taking place on the Riem site, but also in public places, the Open Spaces.

After debates in the city council, compromises have now apparently been agreed.

Exhibitors next year include the car manufacturers Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Renault, Porsche and VW, the suppliers Bosch, Brose, Continental, Denso, ElringKlinger, Magna, Kirchhoff, Schaeffler and ZF, the tech groups Luminar and Qualcomm, the battery companies CATL and Farasis, the energy supplier EnBW, the e-bike manufacturers Stromer or Brose eBikes, the German Aerospace Center and the Fraunhofer Society.

IAA Mobility 2023 in Munich: There will again be test tracks for zero-emission cars and e-bikes

Visitors can test zero-emission cars and electric bicycles on test routes between the city center and the exhibition center.

"Our goal is to make this global innovative power tangible for all target groups at the IAA Mobility - because an innovation is only established when it is used by the majority of society," said VDA Managing Director Jürgen Mindel.
