Russia's permanent representative to the United Nations, Vasily Nebenzia, stressed that America threatens world peace, and is exploiting the illegal sanctions regime as a global tool to force its opponents to comply with its will.
"Washington is trying to give the infamous Monroe law a global scope, as it is trying through its unilateral and illegal policies to force its opponents to comply with its will," TASS news agency quoted Nebenzia as saying during the UN General Assembly's discussion of a draft resolution to lift the US embargo imposed on Cuba, describing the sanctions regime. b "economic terror".
Nebenzia stressed that Cuba is a living example of the political perversion and malice that the United States practices exclusively to achieve its narrow goals that pose a challenge to the world order and undermine the foundations of peace and stability, ignoring geopolitical changes and human principles and values.
Nebenzia also called on the Secretary-General of the United Nations to pay great attention to the international will and to facilitate the mechanisms for implementing the resolutions of the General Assembly.
