Two boys from Iowa are accused of murdering their Spanish teacher, after she gave them a low grade on a test - the state court said yesterday (Tuesday).

The two boys, Willard Miller and Jeremy Goodale, then 16 years old, are accused of murdering their 66-year-old Spanish teacher Nohama Graber on November 2, 2021, in the town of Fairfield in the state of Iowa.

The teacher's body was found a day later, hidden under a tarp, with severe signs of violence.

A county police investigation found that Graber was beaten to death with a baseball bat.

The investigation of the case revealed that the two boys met at Fairfield High School in the afternoon on November 2, and discussed the grades they received on the Spanish test.

At that time, Graber drove her van to a nearby park, where she would walk every day after school.

Eyewitnesses said that after less than an hour, the teacher's van left the park, but said that they saw two men in the front seat.

The van was later found abandoned at the end of a road.

The investigation shows that the boys drove the van to the remote point, then returned to the town by hitchhiking.

At first, when questioned by the police, Miller denied any involvement in the teacher's disappearance.

After that, the boy stated that he "had knowledge of the act, but did not participate", and claimed that a group of masked boys carried out the murder.

Miller said that those boys forced him to bring them a wheelbarrow, with which they could move the teacher's body.

Finally, the boy confessed to the murder, and said that he felt frustrated by the way Graber taught Spanish, and that he was angry that she gave him a low grade,

Also, according to the suspicion, Goodale, the other boy suspected of the act, bragged about murdering the teacher to a friend in a conversation on the Snapchat application.

Records of the conversation were handed over to the police, in which Goodale confesses to murdering the teacher, and even mentions that Miller committed the act together with him.

The two boys, now 17 years old, will be tried as adults.

In the state of Iowa, the penalty for a first degree murder conviction is life in prison, but minors are eligible for a chance at parole.

Goodale is expected to stand trial on December 5, and Miller on March 20.
