A Latino building maintenance worker who stabbed his lover dozens of times and then stuffed his mutilated corpse into his son's hockey bag and abandoned him on a highway in the New York borough of Queens pleaded guilty Wednesday, according to reports. prosecutors, and will be sentenced to 25 years in prison, according to Queens Supreme Court Justice Michael Aloise.

Gaal had returned home shortly after midnight on April 16 after a night of partying, said the Prosecutor's Office, which indicated that Bonola entered his house and the two argued and then he killed her.
Hours later, around 4:15 a.m., Bonola was caught on security video from a nearby home with a hockey bag belonging to one of the victim's sons.
The suitcase with the body of Gaal was found around 8:00 in the morning
on Metropolitan Avenue, near the Union Turnpike.

"This heinous murder devastated an entire family, left two children motherless and shocked the community," Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz said in a statement.

His sentencing is scheduled for November 16.
