We tell you what time the polls open and close, by state and territory, for the United States midterm elections this Tuesday.

This Tuesday, November 8, the midterm elections in the United States will be held, in which 435 seats in the House of Representatives, 35 seats in the Senate and 36 governorships of the country will be at stake.

If you chose not to vote early by mail or in person, you will need to go to your polling place in person on Election Day.

(Remember, whether you voted early or in person on November 8, you had to be registered to do so in most states except North Dakota.)

To find out which polling station you have to vote at, you have several options:

  • Contact your state or territorial election office for all the information.

  • Consult the "Voting Information Tool", which is an initiative of the Voting Information Project.

    Typing your address on that website will tell you where to vote and more details about the election.

  • You can also find information about your polling place in the "Can I vote?"

    of the National Association of Secretaries of State (NASS).
