A 19-year-old young woman collapsed and died at Wolfson Hospital after taking an Opthalgin pill and suffering from a rare side effect of the drug - this was announced this evening (Wednesday) on the main edition of Channel 13. The
young woman arrived at the hospital yesterday in a critical condition, after taking one of the drugs used to reduce fever and relieve pain .
The doctors began performing CPR on her which lasted several hours, and she was even connected to an ECMO machine, but in the end they had to pronounce her dead.
The side effect she suffered from is known and rare, and is related to the destruction of the bone marrow.
According to estimates, the phenomenon occurs in a ratio of one to one and a half million taking the drug.
