The situation with childcare in Egenhofen is coming to a head - as is currently the case in many places in the district.

If it continues like this, opening hours will have to be reduced.

Even the closure of a group is in the room.

Egenhofen - "We are working at full capacity," said City Hall office manager Stefan Pfannes, when he presented the situation of the children's homes to the municipal council.

In addition, the urgently needed crèche group went into operation.

Personnel is bad.

"The constant overload caused by the pandemic is now becoming apparent," says Pfannes.

There are losses due to illness or pregnancy that cannot be compensated for in relationships.

In the two municipal children's homes, large and small crumb box, three positions cannot be filled at the moment, explained Pfannes.

The position of a jumper is also vacant.

"And the staff for the container facility is still missing." This year, the containers were set up on a meadow near the "Große Krümelkiste" children's home to meet the demand for childcare places.

If the situation doesn't improve, you have to react.

The opening hours in the small crumb box would have to be reduced by the turn of the year at the latest.

The parents have already been informed.

In the big crumb box, the educators would even have thrown the closure of a group into the room if there were even more sick leave.

Ursula Hackl wanted to know what consequences it could have for the community if children could no longer have childcare places.

After all, there is a legal right to it.

Parents could of course complain, explained Mayor Martin Obermeier.

So far, however, this has not happened in the district.
