At the same time, another bridge on the main road from Harson was destroyed, possibly as a Ukrainian sabotage intended to split the occupying forces

What caused the death of the Russian deputy governor of the Kherson region, Kirill Stramosov?

The Russian media reported that the Russian official died in a car accident, but no further details were given about the circumstances of the case except that the incident was on the road that connects the occupied region to the Crimean Peninsula, which was annexed by Russia about eight years ago.

This is a Ukrainian citizen who crossed over to the Russian side shortly after Kherson was occupied by the invading forces at the beginning of the war and was among the parties responsible for conducting the "referendum" to annex the region to Russia and evacuate the citizens from it.

A Ukrainian official in Kherson said on Telegram that there is no way to verify that the Russian claim is true.

Stramosov spoke in the last few days in a way from which it can be understood that the Russians are preparing to evacuate part of their forces west of the Dnieper River in the city because of the progress of the Ukrainian forces in the counterattack to liberate the city in recent weeks.

Russia has already ordered the evacuation of civilians from the region - and according to Ukraine this is actually a purge by force - in preparation for the difficult battle.

According to the Russians, the Ukrainian forces have been repulsed for the time being about 50 km north of Dryvka, a town located near a major bridge on one of the tributaries of the Dnieper, not far from Kherson. This bridge was blown up on Wednesday. to prevent the advance of the Ukrainians and to prepare for a retreat. This is a bridge over which a major road passes from Harson, and according to the photos, it has all collapsed into the water, after a bridge parallel to it was blown up about a month ago.

However, it is possible that Ukrainian forces are responsible for the move in an attempt to isolate the Russian army that occupied its territory and facilitate the Ukrainian counterattack by splitting the Russian military presence into two groups that cannot cooperate with each other.

It is possible that this is a move similar to other moves against Russian infrastructure that have been attributed to Ukraine (primarily the explosion of the bridge that connects Russia to the Crimean peninsula).

Be that as it may, media outlets in Ukraine and Russia reported this evening (Wednesday) the beginning of a complete Russian withdrawal from the right bank of the Dnieper River and the city of Kherson.

Defense Minister Shoigu was seen in a video clip with the participation of the commander of the Russian military forces in Ukraine, General Sugiit Sorovkin, confirming in his words the decision to withdraw.

Ukrainian media reported the abandonment of the forces.
