If you want to improve your education in a short period of time, the Top-up Degrees program is the choice of many sub-degree graduates.
The School of Higher Education (SHAPE) cooperates with a number of internationally recognized universities in the UK, Australia and the Mainland to provide professional-based top-up bachelor's degree programmes for those who hold higher diplomas, associate degrees or equivalent. Can be completed in 1 year.
SHAPE provides a variety of further study paths, with three major advantages that help students obtain a bachelor's degree and enhance their competitiveness in the workplace.
SHAPE is a member of the VTC organization. The top-up bachelor's degree programs jointly organized with universities in the UK, Australia and the Mainland cover 7 major professional fields, including business, early childhood, elderly and social services, design, engineering, health and life sciences, and information technology. As well as payment, travel and entertainment.
Full-time courses can be completed in one year at the earliest, and part-time courses only take 14 to 24 months (except for courses at RMIT University in Australia).

High-funded multiple scholarships to cultivate new students
All of SHAPE's Top-up Degrees have government funding and scholarships available for application.
Students studying full-time programmes can apply for the Non-means-tested Subsidy Scheme for Self-financing Undergraduate Students in Hong Kong (NMTSS), with a subsidy of HK$33,200 per year for the 2022-23 academic year; Can apply for Continuing Education Fund (CEF) subsidy up to HK$25,000.
Other government funding includes the Financial Assistance Scheme for Post-secondary Students (FASP), the Non-means-tested Loan Scheme for Post-secondary Students (NLSPS), etc.
Full-time students can also apply for the Government Self-financing Post-secondary Scholarship Scheme (SPSS), with each scholarship ranging from HK$10,000 to 80,000.
In 2021-22, a total of 212 students from SHAPE have received SPSS scholarships, with outstanding achievements.
SHAPE graduates can also apply for the following scholarships, including the He Weier Foundation Scholarship, the Sir Edward Youde Memorial Fund Overseas Postgraduate Scholarship, and the University of Warwick Scholarship, which supports outstanding graduates to study for masters or postgraduate courses in the UK.
In 2021-22, SHAPE students have received a total of over HK$5.3 million in scholarships.
Highly recognized certificate issued by overseas universities
SHAPE's UK and Australian top-up degree programmes have been rated as reaching the Hong Kong Qualifications Framework Level 5 (QF Level 5)*, and the graduation certificate is awarded by a foreign university, and graduates can pursue further studies locally or overseas.
Most engineering courses are accredited by professional societies in Hong Kong, the UK and Australia.
High-achievement and diverse graduation pathways
SHAPE's courses are closely related to the needs of the industry. Within six months of graduation, the employment rate of students has reached as high as 90% (SHAPE Full-time Graduate Employment Survey 2021), and many are employed in government departments and large or multinational companies. Graduates progress to local or overseas master's programmes.
