Munich – On Sunday (November 13), according to the police, emergency braking just prevented the collision of two S-Bahn trains in Munich.
The result would probably have been a catastrophe, with many injured and perhaps even dead - memories of the S-Bahn disaster in spring are awakened here.

As reported by the police, the driver of an S-Bahn at the St.-Martin-Straße station was convinced that he was already at the terminus.
In hindsight, this turned out to be a fatal error.
Accordingly, he stopped the S-Bahn at the station, got out of his cab, entered the cab at the other end of the train and drove back in the direction from which he had just come.
At the same time, another S-Bahn was running in the direction of St.-Martin-Strasse - directly towards the first, returning S-Bahn.
According to the police, an emergency braking of the oncoming train prevented the collision of the two S-Bahn trains.
Both came to a stop unharmed.

Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident.
However, it is unclear how the precarious situation came about.
The Federal Police are now determining whether all the security systems have worked properly.
