Valentin Ratieuville, 27, confirmed his score from the first round and his list wins the municipal election of Persan. He should be elected

He only missed 14 votes to be elected in the first round, winning 49.26% of the vote.

In the second round of the Persian municipal elections, this Sunday, Valentin Ratieuville, faced with the same two lists, could hardly doubt his victory.

The young 27-year-old podiatrist won the election by once again coming close to an absolute majority.

His list "Let's act together for Persian" won 49.68% of the votes cast (1,011 votes), almost as many as his two opponents combined, and won 25 seats.

He will be able to install himself on the chair of mayor of Persan next Saturday.

The meeting of the new municipal council is scheduled for 10 a.m.

“The goal for the next three years will be to work for all the inhabitants, to convince the Persians to trust us for the years to come.

He denies having led a dirty campaign against Alain Kasse, the outgoing and beaten mayor, of whom he had been deputy before seceding with 17 other elected representatives of the majority.

“We did not do any denigration,” assures Valentin Ratieuville.

During the campaign, possible misappropriation of funds by the mayor had been mentioned.

“We just told the truth about what was done financially.

We will have to do an audit to clarify the financial vision of the municipality for the inhabitants.

The future mayor of Persian regrets an abstention of around 70%, even if around 15% of additional voters came to vote this Sunday.

The outgoing mayor will not sit on the city council

Arriving in second position with 25.31% of the vote (515 votes, 4 seats), the left-wing candidate, Sébastien Lombard, is pleased to have progressed between the two rounds.

His list won 4 seats on the city council.

“We will be at the rendezvous of the fight for social justice, to be alongside the inhabitants who suffer and are in difficulty, for the energy transition.

Fieldwork begins.

He is waiting to see if the list of the outgoing mayor will work with his team on certain projects and is considering the creation of a party in Persan.

The results displayed in the Marcel-Cachin room were greeted by the name “Valentin!

taken up in chorus by the supporters of the winner.

Alain Kasse, his predecessor, has already left the premises.

He only came in 3rd position with 25.01% of the vote (509 votes, 4 seats) and announced that he was retiring from politics.

“I am quitting after 27 years in office.

I will not sit on the city council.

I prefer not to attend the sad spectacle that they are going to give,” he explains, adding that he did not “digest” the electoral campaign of his winner.

“I'm 76, I'm going to be a grandfather tomorrow, it's not all bad news.

I was elected the first time with Arnaud Bazin (Editor's note: who supports the future mayor and is on his list) who betrayed me.

But I leave with my head held high.

I will devote myself to Ukraine.
