For the first time in many years, Edel fan Hias Hammerl is not traveling to the World Cup.

However, Hias Hammerl (78) from Ried (community of Kochel am See) is refraining from traveling to the World Cup in Qatar, which begins on Saturday, as he explains when asked by our newspaper.
Mr. Hammerl, have you booked your ticket to Qatar yet?

Why not?
The whole thing there is not a round thing, it's just not the desired World Cup.
I don't like the whole politics, the system there.
Man is not worth much in Qatar.
I don't have to use force to go there.
It's also too early for the World Cup because of Corona.
The disease hasn't gone away, it will certainly increase again in winter, so you shouldn't endanger your family and the whole environment.
It works without that too.
