With the aim of raising awareness of the remnants of war and explosive ordnance, the outreach department of the International Committee of the Red Crescent in Homs organized an art exhibition in the Sobhi Shuaib Hall of Fine Arts in the city, with the participation of twenty-five artists, both professional and amateur.

The participating paintings were distinguished by the diversity of color and technical styles to approach expressionism, and intersect with similar ideas, which is the danger of war remnants that they do not die, but remain deadly, and they must be wary of and inform the competent authorities to remove them.

Regarding the exhibition and its aim, the coordinator of the Awareness Project against the danger of mines and explosive ordnance in Homs, Reem Daoud, explained to SANA reporter that the exhibition is one of the interesting and useful activities at the same time, as the awareness idea reaches the drawing method by inviting a number of artists through the Crescent page on social media and informing them in an awareness session On the ideas to be communicated through the exhibition to the recipient, which produced creative paintings that will accompany the awareness team in its activities in villages and areas liberated from terrorism to raise awareness of the danger of mines.

The field employee in the awareness department of the International Committee of the Red Crescent, Omar Asura, pointed out that the main objective of the exhibition is to shed light on the issue of weapon contamination in war-stricken areas.

Osama Dabab, from the Mine Risk Awareness Team, indicated that the exhibition has two ideas, the first is to pay attention to the harm of war remnants through art, and the second is to protect society through these educational messages in a useful and enjoyable way.

Head of the Plastic Artists Union branch in Homs, Emile Farha, described the exhibition as distinguished in terms of subject matter and ideas, which was reflected in the works of the participating artists.
