A man armed with an ax and a knife arrived at a branch of the Lidl supermarket chain in the town of Jomont in northern France on Monday evening and for an unknown reason began attacking passers-by.
According to information reported in the French media, two of the victims were seriously injured and one slightly.
The attacker also injured himself and was evacuated in serious condition.
It is not clear if this is a racist or nationalist motive.
