Our money is changing:
in the coming days, new coins of 10 shekels, 5 shekels, 1/2 shekel and 10 shekels from the minting year 2015 will be distributed for the first time, in which the inscription of the word "shekels" has been updated in the Arabic and English languages: and the words "new shekel" have been added in Arabic " in the 1/2 NIS coin and the word "Agorat" in the 10 Agora coin.
The inscriptions have been updated in accordance with the directives of the Academy of Hebrew and Arabic in Israel, and have been adapted to the existing inscriptions on banknotes and commemorative coins issued by the Bank of Israel. The coins with the previous inscriptions will remain valid alongside the coins bearing the updated inscriptions.
During the coming months, coins with updated inscriptions will also be distributed to the public for one shekel and two shekels.
