The epidemic situation in Hong Kong is gradually declining. Yesterday (10th) there were 9,379 new confirmed cases, and finally dropped to below 10,000, which is a new low since November 30.
There were 75 new deaths, bringing the total to 12,481. The seven-day average death rate rose to 0.439%, a seven-month high.
After the customs clearance between Hong Kong and the mainland this Sunday (8th), the high-speed rail will resume operation next Sunday (15th) at the latest, and the government will soon announce the ticketing arrangement and frequency.

-An increase of 9,379 confirmed cases, 2,262 or 19.4% less than yesterday.
- There were 227 imported cases, accounting for 2.42% of the overall case rate; compared with 24,796 airport arrivals on the same day, the confirmed rate was 0.92%, and the seven-day average rate was 1.34%.
- 75 new patients died, the 7-day average mortality rate rose slightly to 0.439%, the overall mortality rate remained at 0.45%, and the cumulative death toll was 12,481.
-The number of local cases with new mutant virus strains increased by 6, including 2 cases of XBB and a total of 175 cases, BF.7 by 3 cases and a total of 30 cases, and BQ1.1 by 1 case and a total of 199 cases.
The latest effective reproduction rate of local cases compiled by the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Hong Kong is 0.7831, which has dropped significantly below 1, which means that the number of confirmed cases per day will drop.
