From setbacks to increasingly costly concessions, the savings promised by the pension reform are moving away a little more each day.
And the budgetary seriousness of which the government prides itself gives way to an uncomfortable feeling of short-sighted management.
To the point that the most ardent defenders of the reform end up wondering if the game is ultimately worth the candle.
A dangerous addiction.
The postponement of the retirement age to 64, together with the increase in the contribution period to 43, should make it possible to generate 17.7 billion euros in savings in 2030, in order to make up for the pension deficit, which will then reach 13.5 billion.
"Beware of overkill"
This left in theory 4.2 billion margin.
But, when presenting her reform on January 10, the Prime Minister was already spending 4.8 billion on new social measures, including 3.1 billion to allow people with disabilities or incapacity to continue leaving at age 62, or even 600 million to strengthen the system...
