What exactly is ramen?
When you order ramen soup at the restaurant, you'll be served a bowl of rich broth, wheat noodles, and a spicy garnish and fresh toppings.
The Japanese national dish consists of these four components.
There is shoyu ramen, miso ramen, shio ramen and tonkotsu ramen.
Their names are due to the base of their respective broths.
Healthy additions and toppings are spring onions, pickled bamboo shoots, corn or spinach, a wide variety of meat and fish, wontons, shiitake mushrooms and fried or boiled eggs.
