We have probably never had such a confrontation between two generations.
In addition to a tenderness on my part towards the "old" filmmakers, they are the ones who still hold the artistic territory.
We also need this generation.
We live in a time when the profusion of images is infinite.
Future filmmakers must be anchored in a certain history embodied by Ken Loach, Wim Wenders or Takeshi Kitano.
You say that Cannes Première is used to welcome important filmmakers but who do not win the Goncourt prizes every year.

I completely agree.
I don't regret not having put him in competition, because he probably wouldn't have met the same fate.
