Winter has returned in parts of Bavaria.
In many counties, people woke up to snow-covered landscapes.
Munich – A look out of the window in Munich suggests little: In the Bavarian capital it has been pouring rain since early morning, the temperatures are almost four degrees.
So the grey-cloudy weather continues cheerfully, even if there is probably light at the end of the tunnel.
However, the cool weather does not only bring rain, in parts of southern Bavaria there was even snow on the night of Friday, April 14th.

Onset of winter in Bavaria: Snow-covered landscapes south of Munich
In Wolfratshausen, for example, it started to rain in the course of the morning, but people there woke up to snow-covered roofs and landscapes.
There was even more white splendor to admire in Bad Tölz.
The golf course at almost 650 meters was covered in white on Friday morning, as shown by the local web cam.

However, the falling rain slowly melted the snow.

Naturally, the higher you go, the more wintry the landscape.
Webcam recordings also show the community of Hausham completely covered with snow.
A similar picture is also seen on the Hörnle in Bad Kohlgrub: Winter is back.

Winter onset in Bavaria: DWD with a warning
The German Weather Service has issued a weather warning for the extreme south of Bavaria in the course of the weather.
There it says: “According to amounts of fresh snow of up to 15 cm observed so far, light snowfall above 1000 m continues to occur in the warning period with amounts of up to 5 cm again.
It will spread smoothly.”

Snow landscapes in Bavaria: Spring is still a long time coming
The cold weather seems to want to have a firm grip on the region in the coming days.
Spring lovers and sun worshipers must continue to be patient before the long-awaited change in the weather can come at the end of next week.
Winter fans can be happy, however, and use what is perhaps the very last opportunity for winter sports in southern Bavaria.
