Assizes of work: 17 measures to "reconsider" it

2023-04-24T18:42:16.352Z

A report formulates a series of recommendations, a "first stone" for the future "Pact of life at work", said Olivier Dusspot.

The Labor Conference, launched in early December, resulted in a report on Monday that makes a series of recommendations to

"reconsider"

work.

These meetings, launched within the framework of the National Council for Refoundation (CNR), aimed to bring out proposals on the future of work after the pandemic.

Since then, against the background of the crisis linked to the pension reform, Emmanuel Macron has said he wants to give the social partners

"until the end of this year"

to

"build"

a

"pact for life at work"

.

Minister Olivier Dussopt hailed

"a first stone which will undoubtedly fuel social dialogue, consultations, negotiations to form"

this future pact.

In their report, Sophie Thiéry, president of the Cese's labor and employment commission, and Jean-Dominique Senard, president of the Renault Group - the two personalities commissioned to steer these meetings - outline a number of issues: climate change, search for meaning, work hybrid, balance between private life and professional life, health at work… They start from the observation that

“the pace of work transformations is accelerating”

, climate change being one of the

“most important”

transformations .

To meet these challenges, they make seventeen recommendations, including the idea of

“establishing an annual meeting of labor stakeholders”

.

They also suggest

“assessing alternative working time arrangements, including different types of four-day weeks”

in the private and public sectors.

The authors of the report also recommend

“moving from a formal right to disconnection to its application and respect”

, in particular through the signing of time charters and better training for managers.

It should be noted that these are only recommendations, which do not commit the government.
