How not to hear the anger of Omar, resident of a southern district of Mamoudzou, capital of Mayotte?
This afternoon, women dressed in salouvas - a piece of cloth tied around their chests - color the alleys that flee towards a shimmering green landscape, under thick clouds regularly pouring their burdens over the city.
A few details, however, betray this apparent tropical tranquility.
The school here is topped with barbed wire, like many other establishments in Mayotte.
But above all, when night falls,
"everyone barricades themselves, no one goes out, people are afraid,"
says Omar, who grew up in these streets.
The one nicknamed "Rasta", because of his long dreadlocks, has installed large banners above the main avenue.
It describes a dramatic situation which has worsened considerably in recent years.
