On his Twitter account, Ángel de Brito, after reporting that the daughters of the journalist and driver, Morena and Rocío, traveled to Bogotá, provided his information about his colleague.
"Rial underwent a catheterization, and he had a hypotensive picture. Jorge is hypertensive. But the obstruction prevents the blood from flowing and that's why the pressure drops. They put a stent on him and with that they solved it. But we have to wait for the evolution , explained his doctor," De Brito said first, revealing the statements of Guillermo Capuya.
And then the driver of LAM (America, Monday to Friday at 8:00 p.m.) detailed the critical situation that Rial went through:
"The medical team managed to REANIMATE HIM, after going through a dramatic situation, but they pulled him through. They
revived him, they took him out of the picture and they intubated him. We have to wait for the evolution, they tell me about the clinic".
"Rial suffered a pre-infarct and they managed to revive him
," De Brito said.
And then he explained: "What is a pre-infarction? The pre-infarction occurs when there is a malfunction in the heart muscle known as myocardium. In general, this failure generates quite strong pain in the chest that occurs because the heart does not it's getting enough blood, so it's not pumping the same amount to the rest of the body."
Then, he summarized Rial's part: "Acute myocardial infarction. Ventricular tachycardia. He revived. He was intubated. Cardiac catheterization. And now he is stable.
Awaiting his evolution."
"The most complicated thing was the ventricular tachycardia that led to cardiac arrest (it is one of the causes of sudden death). It is one of the most serious arrhythmias,"

In dialogue with C5N, Capuya, Rial's personal doctor, explained:
"Jorge had a complex heart condition that could be resolved in hemodynamics and now he is stable."
And he added: "The one who has direct contact with the ICU doctor, that is, coronary unit, intensive care, is me. I spoke with the doctors while they were doing the procedure and before."
"The information that I give them is somehow, so to speak, the official one, directly with the people at the clinic, that it is an excellent clinic, I want to say, because I also read that it was in a very bad place and nothing to do with it" , he claimed.
And, in that sense, he added:
"He is in the best place. He has coverage and assistance and is very well treated."
For her part, Morena Rial, on her Instagram account, before arriving in Colombia, stated in a statement:
"As is public knowledge, my father suffered a cardiac episode and is hospitalized."
