It all started with an advanced position for the PSG offense, sanctioned by the linesman, but the referee -according to his gestural language- did not consider it essential to stop the game, so he gave the order to continue.

had the ball in his hands, but interpreted that he had to replace the game with a free kick, from the off side.
That is why he released the ball onto the grass, leaving the six-yard box, and very close to Mbappé's position, who was returning to his field.
The Frenchman looked at the referee, turned around and defined the empty goal before the incredulous gaze of the rivals and the celebration of the fans in the Parque de los Príncipes.
