According to the "Ko Le Oved" organization, this is a period that is required from the Home Front Command to make it accessible to the foreign workers, among other things, through an application that will be navigated in their language - but in the meantime no changes have been made. At the "Guardian of the Walls" two workers were killed by a rocket, and it is claimed that no alarm was sounded at the site. "Devastating lack of emergency protection"

A 25-year-old foreign construction worker was seriously injured today (Tuesday) by shrapnel after a rocket fell in Sderot, following the barrage of rockets fired from the Gaza Strip towards the surrounding settlements.

The organization "Ko Le Oved" responded to his injury while claiming: "Emergency information is not accessible for the foreign workers."

"We, the Israelis, are already practiced and know what to do in an emergency. We have experience with many sources of information. A foreign worker comes for a few years, if he does not have our experience and knowledge, he does," the organization said today.

"For a long time now, the organization has been asking the Home Front Command to make the information accessible, through an application that will be in the native languages of the employees, and that it will be possible to download it to cell phone devices that are not set up in an Israeli account," added attorney Orit Ronan and attorney Diana Baron of the organization's activities.

"Today this is not possible, and in any case today there is no information in the Thai or Chinese languages, which are the languages of many of the foreign workers in the construction and agricultural sectors."

The need to make the information accessible came up acutely during Operation "Guardian of the Walls" about two years ago, after two Thai workers were killed by a rocket hit in the packing house where they worked.

In an interview with the BBC that took place afterwards, one of the Thai workers said that where they were at the time of the shooting from Gaza - no alarm was sounded.

Following the incident, the Thai embassy appealed to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and said that she is concerned that the Thai workers feel unprotected, without alarms in the area where they live and without protection.

In response, Netanyahu claimed that he would deal with the issue.

"Even in days without war and the threat of missiles, the lives of the foreign construction workers are desolate."

"Even in days without war and the threat of missiles, the lives of the foreign construction workers are desolate, and in these times even more," said Dr. Yahal Kurlander, an immigration expert from Tel Hai Academic College. "The migrant workers suffer from a lack of information and a desperate lack of protection.

They came to Israel at the invitation of the state for the purpose of work, and it is its responsibility to take care of this.

However, it seems that there is no law and no justice here either," she added.
