A Republican state senator from Minnesota, in the United States, became an unwitting social media star for voting in leather, lying on his bed during what should have been a routine session of a legislative committee.
In a video streamed live on YouTube, Republican Sen. Calvin Bahr of East Bethel can be seen voting over Zoom with an "I'm Just a Bill" School House Rock cartoon as the background behind him.
After voting, Bahr quickly turned off the camera and left his blank space on the screen with just his name.
With a naked torso and in bed, that's how the Republican senator voted.
A spokeswoman for Senate Republicans said Bahr
is a trucker who worked until 4:45 a.m. and then went to bed before session.
She said Bahr would not comment on the vote or the video image, according to The Minneapolis Star Tribune newspaper.
The video caused various memes and repercussions on social networks until the comments were disabled.
