Venomous reptiles and insects are often active during heat waves, and the current season is characterized by many bites and stings from snakes and scorpions.
To date, 21 species of scorpions from three different families have been discovered in Israel.
About half of them live in the desert.
This is a very common animal that exists in almost every natural habitat from Eilat to Hermon.
The yellow stinger is the most dangerous of the country's scorpions and the most common and is found in almost all areas of the country, but mainly in the desert.
Its pincers are thin, its color is light yellow, it is fast in movement and bites and climbs well.
It lives under flat stones and stone fences, and penetrates human dwellings.
Spawning occurs in June-August, and 12-15 offspring emerge.
The largest scorpion in Israel is Nebo Jericho, whose color is black, and its sting is not considered dangerous.
