Hamada Nidal Hassan Aktit, a 6-year-old boy from the Gaza Strip, died today (Monday) after being attacked by a lion in the zoo in the city of Khan Yunis, and fatally injured.

The local medical teams that were called to the scene gave him initial medical treatment and evacuated him to the hospital - where he was pronounced dead.

The Palestinian police in the Gaza Strip began investigating the case, and from the information published so far in the Palestinian media, it appears that Hassan Aktit entered the fenced enclosure at the zoo through a loophole, and when he approached the cage where the lion was, he was attacked by him.

In photos and videos distributed on social networks, it is possible to notice a breach in the fence, and the blood smeared on the lion's cage.

At the same time, the local police announced the closure of the zoo until the end of the investigation.
